Kyoshi Kristensen is proud to be a student of Hanshi
William H. Duessel. Hanshi Duessel is a 9th Degree Black Belt, and has been training in the martial arts for more than 40 years. In 1964 his training in
Isshinryu Karate was heightened when he trained daily for three months with
O'Sensei Tatsuo Shimabuku, the founder of Isshinryu, during his visit to Pittsburgh, PA.
Recently, Hanshi Duessel was awarded the title of Hanshi
by Kichiro Shimabuku, the son of Tatsuo Shimabuku, and the current head of
Isshinryu Karate worldwide.

His understanding and knowledge of the art is second to none. He has hosted the 1985 and 1992
Isshinryu World Karate Association Tournaments. He conducts numerous seminars and has produced two excellent
instructional videos demonstrating the
Isshinryu hand and weapons kata.
