The Gasshuku - Expect Nothing, be
Ready for Anything
In the spring of 1998, Texas Isshinryu Karate Kai began hosting an
annual three day long Gasshuku for students and invited guests.
Typically held during
April, the event includes two nights in dorm-type quarters, meals, and a
vigorous regimen of training seminars touching on all aspects of
training, with a campfire night and talent show night to complete the yin and
the yang. Students are expected to turn their focus inward, and to learn about
themselves as well as their karate.
The 2007 Gasshuku will be held April 13-15, 2007. Start planning (and
